Research Protections - Export Controls
Export control regulations were established to protect U.S. national security and foreign policy interests. These regulations govern the export of all items of U.S. origin as well as information and/or software that may be shared with foreign nationals in the U.S. or abroad. In October 2009, the Chancellor reaffirmed Appalachianās commitment to fulfilling its mission of teaching, research, and service in a manner that complies with federal export control and embargo regulations. An Export Control Management Plan has been established to map our course of compliance. Please review our Plan and this website for more information about export controls.
