Research Cafe: Compassion Comes to the Table
More information
Research Cafe Series
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs presents Research Cafe, an informal series of lunchtime discussions designed to introduce the campus to faculty research, scholarly activity and creative production. This series will be an opportunity for faculty to discuss projects and results, mix and mingle with colleagues from across the disciplines and potentially find partners for new collaborations.
Join us for an informal lunch-hour presentation from Dr. Christopher Osmond, a Leadership & Educational Studies faculty member who has fused his research, teaching, and service interests into an innovative public event series. "Compassion Comes to the Table: Food Security in the High Country" is a year-long, humanities-based series hosted by the Watauga County Public Library in collaboration with Dr. Osmond, the Appalachian State University Office of Sustainability, the Appalachian Humanities Council, and the pay-as-you can restaurant F.A.R.M. ("Feed All Regardless of Means") Cafe. The series is supported by a Building Common Ground grant from the American Library Association and the
Fetzer Institute.
