Office of Research and Sponsored Programs :: Appalachian State University

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) provides support for the research, creative, and scholarly endeavors of Appalachian faculty, staff, and students. ORSP also collaborates with Special Funds Accounting on the fiscal management of awarded projects. ORSP consists of three areas:

Grants Resources and Services	Sponsored Programs	Research Protections
Assists with developing ideas into proposals Locates, evaluates, and disseminates funding opportunities Offers professional development workshops and seminars Manages limited submissions Offers statistical assistance and program evaluation consultations	Reviews and approves all proposal submissions Assists with developing budgets Negotiates all grant awards and contracts Manages data use, confidentiality, and material transfer agreements Collaborates with Special Funds Accounting to manage funded projects	Administers programs that provide ethical and regulatory oversight of research involving: Human subjects Animal subjects Biosafety Radiation safety Export controls Intellectual property Responsible Conduct of Research
